Hal Higdon's MARATHON GUIDE!
Read on the weep guys... This is the training schedule that we should be following... Don't follow this, and i GUARANTEE you that the marathon day will be very very painful....... (like all my marathons, cos i don't follow it, heh...)
PEOPLE DIFFER GREATLY IN ABILITY, but ideally before starting a marathon program, you should have been running about a year. You should be able to comfortably run distances between 3 and 6 miles. You should be training 3-5 days a week, averaging 15-25 miles a week. You should have run an occasional 5-K or 10-K race. It is possible to run a marathon with less of a training base (particularly if you come from another sport), but the higher your fitness level, the easier this 18-week program will be.
Marathon singlet?
Hey doods... i was thinking of making a singlet for us to run in for the marathon in dec..
No inspiration rite now though... any ideas? Or do you think it's a waste of effort?

Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan
2007
Jan Feb Mar Apr May May June July Aug Sept Oct Nov
What is going on? Don't waste your time on the Fullmoon Party if you don't like to meet people from all over the world. There are thousands of happy guys and gals dancing to pumping beats on a "paradise" beach in the moonlight. Or sit in the sand at small tables with some friends and cheer a "Thai whiskey set" with local spririts like Meakong or Sang Som If you prefer beer, try a cold Thai beer such as Singha, Beer Chang, Kloster etc. There are often other beer brands such as Heineken, Tiger, Corona etc. available on many of the bars and restaurants and of course a number of non-alcoholic alternatives like fruit juices, fruit shakes and soft drinks. If you are into dancing, do not forget to drink enough water so you won't end up dehydrated. Delicious Thai traditional food as well as pasta, pizza, burgers, salads, soups etc. is found in the restaurants and at food stalls. Prices are often very reasonable. ATM machines, accepting most credit cards and debit cards as VISA, Mastercard (Maestro/Cirrus) etc. are available close to the beach. Also a few money exchange officies (mini banks) are found here, so if you use a card, you do not have to bring a lot of cash to the party.

virginia wildcats
how bout this for a face mask? actually it's an eye mask.
the game played in the picture is lacrosse
not an easy game as one has to catch the ball with the "head" of the lacrosse stick. almost like an extension of one's arm.
but the mask does look pretty cool though. can use it for other sports maybe. eventhough it's considered the female's version of a face mask. the mens version is full face.
but hey, who's keeping score.
plus, the chicks do look kinda fit

then and now
can you guess who this character is?
many years ago, cole cash was a memember of team 7, io's (international operations) elite special forces team.
one of their missions resulted in the team obtaining gen factor.
eventually the team disbanded and cole cash was solo before joining the wild cats (covert action teams).
he's known as grifter.
notice he retains his symbol around his eye area. the other members of team 7 have their own symbols.
i especially like the drawing of cole cash. the amount of gear he has plastered on him. can only make one awe.
some people feel that cole's middle should be hard. there is no record that he has a middle name.

Teacher convicted of molesting students
By Valarie Tan, Channel NewsAsia Posted: 16 March 2007 2219 hrs
SINGAPORE: A teacher at an all-boys secondary school has been found guilty of molesting his students. 35-year-old William Ding was convicted on three of the nine charges faced.
But sentencing has been postponed for three weeks for the defence to prepare a mitigation plea.
Ding had been accused of molesting four boys, aged between 12 and 14, from 2001 to 2005.
Delivering the verdict on Friday, District Judge Jasbendar Kaur said it was necessary to subject all evidence to careful scrutiny. This was because there were no other witnesses present other than the accused and the victims during the time of the alleged incidents. The court also noted the young age of the victims and their ability to give reliable testimony.
Things looked well for Ding when he was acquitted of the first six outrage-of-modesty charges, with a yelp of "yes" among his supporters. But when he was convicted of the last three charges, there were audible sighs of disappointment and some of his supporters shed tears.
Ding remained expressionless when the verdict was read, but later spoke to his dozens of supporters outside the courtroom after judgement was passed. He thanked them for their support and told them he was "at peace with himself", adding that he would not give up the fight for justice.
The supporters surrounded Ding as they walked out of the courtroom together to shield him from cameras. Speaking to the media after the verdict, the parent of one of the victims said he was glad justice was served.
Ding, who is out on bail, can be fined, caned or jailed for up to two years for each of the convicted charges.

From:
http://www.adpunch.org/entry/anti-smoking-dont-ignore-warning-on-cigarette-packs/
This is another interesting anti-smoking advertisement campaign illustrating various other warning and then comparing it with warning given on a cigarette pack. The advertisement aims to people understand the meaning of a warning unlike the attitude that warning is being generally perceived according to the suitability of a person since the danger is not seen just right at the next step; people increasingly tend to ignore anti-smoking warnings.
The advertisement showing several circumstances when ignoring the warning could lead a person to death. The campaign is undoubtedly visually impeccable that portrays the idea very expressively. The basic text of the campaign reads, ‘you wouldn’t ignore this warning. Why ignore them on cigarette packs?’.

the long "dick" you see in the picture is the abort rocket. should the astronauts wanna abort and eject the mission, the rocket will fire up, pulling the capsule under it.

What do you do with your computer when nothing is running?
Don't know about you guys, but I don't really like to waste my computer processing power when it's doing nothing. I've been running this software for abt 4 - 5 years? It's called BOINC. Before this it was called SETI@Home.
You can basically select what do you want the software to run from various organizations. It's all profit-free, or so they say. You can run stuff like proteins research, physics, or even chess game probabilities. Check it out.
BOINC
And here's the wikipedia entry
BOINC Wiki
For those who run it, when you want to use processor intensive stuff. like. BF2142! or, WoW. okay. maybe not WoW. just shutdown the prog.

take off your rainbow shades
now that mark's back on the island. what's next?
since he saw the dmz in korea. why not try hawaii and visit the battleship uss arizona. the largest battleship of her time.
the memorial is built right above the blown wreckage of the ship. visitors take a little ferry out to the site and view the displays in the white structure, while the arizona lays right below them.
a little creepy if you ask me, all them bodies still in the ships hull. with oil leaking by the droplets over the years.
lest we forget.
year of the fox
seems like we're a little behind time
but yeah, if not happy new year
then it's happy lunar new year
