the journey of a duty unpaid bottle

a little behind the scenes feature on one of marks gift

since some of the guys such as glenn and kd were in oz, they decided to send mark a gift through the mail, and since it was a surprise gift. they sent it to me.

so i got the call from them to expect the gift and i thought of it was nothing. little did i know that a week later i'd receive a letter from the customs department telling me that there is duty unpaid tax for the bottle of vodka that these clowns sent me.

i thus had to make the trip down to the customs department of the central post office to collect the item.

the tax usually goes, for vodka, $70 sing per liter of the liquid and also subject to 7% gst from the value of the vodka. i was lucky, the bottle was 700 ml so i paid less, and also the price of the drink was much cheaper, lower than the shelf price. so i ended paying a manageable amount of tax. but it was all worth it as it is for and from a close bunch of brothers from different mothers

eventually it made it through marks hands

savor every drop of that drink dude.

the scene of mark's twenty.....twenty six's birthday party. damn man. are we all that late.

this is no ordinary birthday celebration. and that involves planning, denial and secrecy. so for the longest 2 weeks. most us had to do things under his nose. not telling him what's goin on and telling him we're not free to meet on that day.

so the day came and we all set up the smoking room. the bong was set up, the food area was set up, the bed was laid with balloons. now all we need was for the birthday boy to head up

he kinda knew something was up, judging by the amount of smoke that was in the room, and the corridor. not much of a shocking surprise but he didn't know how it was going to be....sorry dude. no strippers.

the evening went by with carls jr, pizza and chips. drinks were mixed, gifts were presented, dings gift of an entire collection of simpsons dvd was view, we only got through 2 discs.

at the end of it, we all warped up and cleared the room in time for the birthday boy to enjoy the room with the person who planned it.
